Ok! heres my problem. When I play CODUO i get horrible lag and my fps when outside running around ranges from 6-20 max. my ping is allways good (40-70). What i did to try and fix this problem was buy a new vid card (128 MB DDR Ge Force FX 5500 PCI NVIDIA) This made the graphics better but did nothing for my FPS or lag. Then i decided to double my RAM so I now have 512 MB of ram, and all this did was make the maps load a little faster, but yet again didn't help with the FPS or Lag. So this is my problem. I don't know why doing all this did nothing for my fps or lag? I have a AMD Athlon XP 2400+ proccessor. My vid settings are for peak performance not quality and i play the game on the lowest resolution. My internet has a fast connection, but i don't know what the bandwith is . if anyone can help me figure out this lag problem i would greaty appreciate it.

go into your nvidea card performance settings and make sure "application controlled" is checked by each one, or u may want to do one at a time and see how each affects it i have all of mine set to the above except for the image settings
something else you may try is to un-check the "sync every frame" box in your UO settings
good luck

Oh ya.....and dont forget to update your drivers for the vid card....they are notorious for being "out of date"...

Thanks for the advice guys. Gnar Kill, how does your computer play the game since you have the same vid car as me?

Thanks for the advice guys. Gnar Kill, how does your computer play the game since you have the same vid car as me? Great, I mean CoD ran fairly well on my Intel Extreme card, but it runs amazing now on it. Not to mention EverQuest II, Half Life 2, and Tribes Vengeance (all my semi-highly demanding games) run great on it! Except I drop the settings down to medium or high, and they still look great! I love this card...how much did you pay for yours though? I paid 120$ for mine.

Yeah i paid about the same for mine. But, for some reason i still have bad fps and horrible lag. I think it might be due to my processor or internet.

Have you tried your computer on someone elses net yet? Just to eliminate the internet as a factor. It sounds like your processor or computer though, as you seemingly have a decent vid card and your ping isn't 300.

I would think it's yer processor being hogged up, or your memory getting hogged up... Your ping is the same as US's... and he never has anytrouble mg'ing me with a 20 ping I know you don't beleive me, but it sounds like you got something running that is sucking everything up :-\

Thanks for all the post guys. i thinnk i've got it as fixed as it will get. I wipped my hard drive and reinstalled windows and then the first thing i reinstalled was COD. It is running lot better and most of the lag i get is done by 4 min or so into the map. ;D ;D ;D
